Account & sign-in help
How to sign in, and how to keep your account secure.
Ways to sign in
There are three ways into maintainkit — use whichever you prefer.
Email & password
Your email and the password you set when you joined.
Email sign-in link
We email you a one-time link — nothing to remember. It expires in 20 minutes.
Passkey
Face ID, a fingerprint, or your device. The fastest and most secure option.
Passkeys
A passkey replaces your password with your device's biometrics. It can't be phished, guessed, or reused — and there's nothing to type.
- 1Add one: Account → Passkeys → “Add a passkey”, then approve with Face ID or your fingerprint.
- 2Sign in: on the login screen choose “Sign in with a passkey” and pick your account.
- 3Add a passkey on each device you use. You can remove any of them from Account at any time.
Two-step verification
Add a second step at sign-in using an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, 1Password, Authy, …).
- 1Enable it: Account → Two-factor authentication → “Enable”, scan the QR code with your app, then enter the 6-digit code to confirm.
- 2You'll get 10 recovery codes — save them somewhere safe. Each one works once if you ever lose your phone.
- 3From then on, after your password or email link you'll enter the current 6-digit code from your app.
Lost your device? Enter one of your recovery codes instead of the 6-digit code.
Turn it off in Account by entering a current code — unless your administrator requires it.
If your team requires 2FA
An administrator can require two-step verification for everyone. If so, you'll be asked to set it up before you can use the app. A passkey counts too — if you already have one, you're covered.
